I mean if its a big cargo plane usually they have loads of power and dont need much runway if they are empty. Saw a likely empty UPS (B757 I think) go up after like 1/5th of the runway. 3500feet should be plenty to take off if the plane is completely empty. Of course you would take risks, e.g. if you have an engine failure you kinda busted... But yeah technically the plane doesnt need so much runway, most is just safety margins for stuff like an rejected takeoff or engine failure during takeoff.

It was the mistaken landing here and the eventual departure that landed the C-17 into my all time favorite aircraft.
